 STRESS Relief -
Guaranteed!

Here are two breathing exercises which -
When you DO them - will provide immediate relief.

Sometimes we need immediate relief - even if it isn't
all that long lasting.. just for the sake of our sanity.

"Instant Relief"

Although not required, results will improve when you get in a comfortable position - sit down if possible.  You are going to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, *configuring your mouth in a certain way. - Read first, then do it.

The pace is less important, but the count needs to be at the same pace for the entirety of the exercise.

?  Breathe IN through the nose for count of 4.
?  HOLD for count of 7
?  Breathe OUT through the mouth for count of 8.

Repeat 3 times..

*
with you mouth almost closed, allow your cheeks to puff out, as you exhale, and touch the end of your tongue to your upper palate, just above the place your two front teeth come together.. regulate the rate of exhale to match the 8 count.

This Native American technique can be practiced ANYWHERE - whenever and wherever you feel stress.

This takes a little more time but is also longer lasting and a deeper and more complete cleansing.

Get in a comfortable position - sit down if possible, feet on the floor.

Breathe through your nose if at all possible.

The pace is all up to you. Make it comfortable.  You may find you will vary the pace at some point during the course of the exercise.  You will feel it when you can slow the pace. (and I promise, if you do this as instructed, you WILL feel relief - guaranteed!)

* Breathe in for a count of 7
* Hold for a count of 7
* Breathe out for a count of 7
* Hold for a count of 7.

Repeat this 7 times.

This is a Ho'Oponopono technique and teaching from Dr. Hew Len.

More than thirty years ago, in Hawaii, at the Hawaii State Hospital, there was a special ward, a clinic for the mentally ill criminals. People who had committed extremely serious crimes were assigned there either because they had a very deep mental disorder or because they needed to be checked to see if they were sane enough to stand trial. They had committed murder, rape, kidnapping or other such crimes. According to a nurse that worked there in those years, everything was decaying, terrifying, repulsive. No day would pass without a patient-inmate attacking another inmate or a member of the staff.
The people working there were so frightened that they would walk close to the walls if they saw an inmate coming their way in a corridor, even though they were all shackled, all the time ? but more than once this wouldn't?t stop an aggression. The inmates would never be brought outside to get fresh air because of their relentlessly threatening attitude. The scarcity of staff was a chronic occurrence. Nurses, wardens, employees would prefer to be on sick-leave most of the time in order not to confront such a depressive and dangerous environment.
Dr. Hew Len, the Teacher of the healing system Ho'Oponopono
One day, a newly appointed clinical psychologist, a Dr. Stanley Hew Len, arrived at the ward. The nurses rolled their eyes, bracing themselves for one more guy that was going to bug them with new theories and proposals to fix the horrid situation, who would walk away as soon as things became unpleasant, usually around a month later. However, this new doctor wouldn't?t do anything like that. Actually he didn't?t seem to be doing anything in particular, except just coming in and being always cheerful and smiling, in a very natural, relaxed way.  He wasn't?t even particularly early in arriving every morning. From time to time he would ask for the files of the inmates.
He never tried to see them personally.  Apparently he just sat in an office, looked at their files, and told members of the staff who showed an interest about a weird thing called Ho?Ho'Oponopono.  Little by little things started to change in the hospital.  Over time things began to improve. The gardens started being taken care of, some tennis courts were repaired and some prisoners that up until then were never allowed to go outside started playing tennis with the staff.  Other prisoners would be allowed not to be shackled any more, or would receive less heavy pharmacological drugs. More and more obtained permission to go outside unshackled, without causing trouble to the hospital?s employees.
In the end, the atmosphere changed so much that the staff was not on sick leave any more. Actually, more people than needed wanted to work there.  Prisoners started gradually to be released.  Dr. Hew Len worked there close to four years.  In the end, there remained only a couple of inmates that were relocated somewhere else and the clinic for the mentally insane criminals had to close.
There is MORE to this than what's on this page. Ho?Ho'Oponopono is based on the concept that anything that happens to you or that you perceive is your own creation and thus is entirely your responsibility. NOTE: - "It is your responsibility" does NOT mean it is your fault (or there is blame or guilt assigned).  You can learn more by asking (george@iwantjoy.com), attending an Event (see Calendar) or having a Session (see Matrix Energetics and Session Questions).
